Aaron is Principal at Lumen Advisors LLC, a global macro long short asset manager, based in San Francisco and is Managing Director at Lumen Advisors Private Limited in Singapore, overseeing Asia strategies and investments. He is also a Board Director at Finvese, Oakbridge Capital and WIT Capital Advisors.
Before joining Lumen in 2005, he was Head of Portfolio Management, Asia at PIMCO Newport Beach where he started the firm’s Asian portfolio management and trading operations in 2001 in Singapore, managing global balanced stock and bond funds as well as Emerging Market Bond Funds and Asia Dedicated Funds. Prior to PIMCO, Aaron was Head of Fixed Income, Asia and senior portfolio manager for RCM Global Investors (San Francisco & Singapore) since 1997. He was responsible for starting RCM’s Asian institutional portfolio operations and managing fixed and balanced portfolios.
Aaron serves on the Board of Directors at the Wealth Management Institute as well as the Editorial Board on the Journal of Futures Markets. He was Past Chairman of the Board of Governors, CFA Institute and Board of Trustees on the Government of Singapore Pension Fund. He was previously Senior Advisor to Harvest Fund Management Company (Beijing), Bosera Asset Management (Shenzhen), and Minsheng Tonghui Asset Management (Shanghai).
Aaron has a PhD in Financial Economics from the Anderson School, UCLA. He has completed corporate director programs at Stanford University and University of Chicago and has an engineering bachelors from the National University of Singapore. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is Adjunct Professor at NUS & SMU in Singapore and at CEIBS in China.
