Fred H. Speece, Jr., CFA, has 47 years of experience in the investment management business and is founder of the investment management firm of Speece Thorson Capital Group, Inc. in Minneapolis. He is past chair of the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute, Board of Trustees of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute, Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, and Financial Analysts Seminar. The CFA Institute awarded him with the Alfred C. Morley Distinguished Service Award and the C. Stewart Sheppard Leadership Award. The CFA Institute Research Foundation inducted him into the Leadership Circle. He has been an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate School of Business at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota. He holds a BBA from Ohio University and an MBA from Western Michigan University and is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Minnesota. He frequently speaks on investing at CFA Institute conferences and local analyst societies around the country.
