I have over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. I started my career as a commercial lender and after five years moved into the investment field working at a major Canadian insurer. I worked with a major Canadian investment firm as an equity analyst and portfolio manager. From there, I went on to run a family office for a well-known Canadian family. Subsequently, I held significant leadership roles in wealth management for two major Canadian banks. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba along with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations.
Throughout my career, my clientele has been at the center of my work. This singular premise affords a sharp focus in managing each client's investment portfolio and all other aspects of their wealth. My focus for investments is one that is diverse, clear, and measureable—all with the view to providing my clientele with the practical advice that works as advertised.
I am a member of CFA Institute and the Market Technician's Association. My volunteer roles with CFA Institute include: past President of CFA Vancouver, past President's Council Representative (PCR) for Canada on the global Board of CFA Institute, Exam Grading, Standard Setting, the Nominating Committee.
I was a proud volunteer for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics serving as the timer for the Figure Skating events. This role arose from a 25-year volunteer career in figure skating as an internationally ranked judge. I have recently completed a two-year term as member of the Board of Governors of the VanDusen Botanical Garden and a member of their Finance committee. I am on the Board of Governors for the Chartered Market Technician's exam with a three-year term that began in August 2014. Lastly, I am involved in volunteer activities at the school our children attend and the sports that they play. In my spare time, I can be found on a local mountain looking for fresh tracks for my snowboard.
